Natures ability to thrive and survive in any environment relies on her commitment to include and care for all life. She holds an innate understanding that in order to flourish, even under duress circumstances, relies on working as one with all living elements big and small. There is no segregation amongst her kingdom, no hierarchy, just inclusion for all, as without embracing all life the entire ecosystems begins to fail.
She is our greatest and oldest teacher, if we simply stop to listen to hear, see and feel her lessons we would all be better off for it.
From Her Connection To The Natural World
Even at an early age, Alisha always found comfort in the natural world. Her curiosity would lead her to spend countless hours outside in the back paddocks or helping in the home garden.
These days not much has changed, given any opportunity, Alisha will be outside or at the very least have a door / window open in her home so she can simply smell and hear what is flourishing outside.
Her deeper curiosity and desire to understand how best she can help facilitate a way of interacting with nature, that regenerates, providing life to the soil, sanctuaries for wildlife and a place for people to connect and call home, drives her to run a landscaping business that will connect with new clients on a much deeper level.
And although Alisha finds such beauty in her co-creations with nature, she also understands the deeper current of what it means to protect, preserve and regenerate what is here and what has been lost. She understands that we are merely the beneficiaries of a system that works effortlessly, when allowed to, and that the beauty we get to experience is simply a by product of something much greater than ourselves, Mother Nature.
Purpose
A sentiment that resonated with me for years, what is purpose and how can this be translated through the work I do in this lifetime.
The purpose I found and have evolved Nurturing Ecosystems into is really all in the name. To nurture an environment through thoughtful connection and regenerative consideration whilst connecting those around and I come into contact with, back to nature.
Passing on my knowledge, experience and guidance through all of the work I do.
Vision
The vision I hold for Nurturing Ecosystems is for it to be so much more than just a business name. I see this as an expression of how people tend to the land around their home, truly nurturing the ecosystems they are creating or are caring for.
With each home connecting to the next forming corridors and expanding in to a web of multifaceted ecosystem, supporting grand biodiversity, sanctuaries for all wildlife and regenerating the earth beneath our feet.
Most of all, in my vision, I hold hope for all of this to unfold and be adopted in such a way that brings about a generation of people that embrace their inherent connection to nature.
Because when we feel connected to something is when we can truly care for it.
Philosophy
Follow in natures footsteps, working with her not against her…
A philosophy I have held even before I realised what it truly meant. As a kid camping in the bushland of Victoria I felt that connection, but couldn’t put words to it.
Now running my own landscaping business where I can truly embrace what I learn from nature everyday back into the homes of everyone who opens their home to me.
Looking for those small cracks in life where a glimmer of hope and new life may lie.
